Plagiarism Policy

GPH-International Journal of Business Management is committed to maintaining the highest standards of research integrity and ethical publishing practices. To uphold these standards, we have established the following plagiarism policy:

1. Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism involves the use of someone else’s work, ideas, or expressions without proper acknowledgment, thereby presenting them as one’s own. This includes:

  • Copying text or data from other sources without citation.
  • Paraphrasing or summarizing another author’s work without appropriate reference.
  • Self-plagiarism, where authors reuse their own previously published work without proper citation.

2. Prevention and Detection

  • Submission Guidelines: Authors are required to ensure that their submissions adhere to ethical standards and are free from plagiarism. Manuscripts should be original and must not have been previously published or under consideration elsewhere.

  • Plagiarism Check: All submitted manuscripts will undergo a plagiarism screening process using advanced software tools. This is to identify any potential instances of plagiarism and ensure the originality of the content.

3. Procedures for Handling Plagiarism

  • Initial Assessment: If plagiarism is suspected, the editorial team will conduct an initial assessment to determine the extent of the issue.

  • Investigation: If preliminary findings suggest significant plagiarism, the matter will be escalated to the editorial board for a thorough investigation. The investigation will consider the severity of the plagiarism and the intent behind it.

  • Actions and Penalties: Depending on the outcome of the investigation, the following actions may be taken:

    • Minor Instances: If the plagiarism is minor and can be corrected, the author may be asked to revise the manuscript to properly cite sources.
    • Major Instances: For major or repeated instances of plagiarism, the manuscript will be rejected, and the author(s) may be banned from submitting to the journal in the future. Further disciplinary actions may be taken if necessary.

4. Author Responsibilities

  • Originality: Authors must ensure that their work is original and properly references all sources of information and data. They are responsible for maintaining the integrity of their research and adhering to ethical standards.

  • Acknowledgments: Proper acknowledgment must be given to all contributors and sources of information. Authors should provide clear and accurate citations to support their research.

5. Appeals Process

  • Right to Appeal: Authors have the right to appeal decisions related to plagiarism. Appeals should be submitted in writing to the editorial office, outlining the reasons for the appeal and providing any supporting evidence.

  • Review of Appeals: The editorial board will review the appeal and make a final decision. The decision of the editorial board regarding appeals is final.

6. Education and Training

  • Author Education: The journal provides resources and guidelines to educate authors about plagiarism and proper citation practices. Authors are encouraged to review these resources to avoid unintentional plagiarism.
