Abstract

Published in 2002, Les Petits-Fils nègres de Vercingétorix is ​​a novel that rises an ingenious plotting of Hortense Iloki's war story, Witnessing a tragic conflict rise between southerners and northerners Vietongans. A civil war that sadly proclaming women as head list victims.

Hortense and her daughter Maribé rise as exemplary resistance fighters. According to Hortense, writing is the only tool to rub away the stains and heal the wounds caused by a similar kind of tribal conflict. Escaping war, she crosses the country with her daughter.From Batalébé aspiring to reach Oweto, the exiles crosse Louboulou, village in which they temporarily take refuge after the reception of the old Mam'Soko.

During her planned itinerary, Hortense describes violence acts and atrocities mourning Viétongo. In her preciusly kept journal, the woman recounts war scenes and experiences through a subtle approach on memory of her tragedy.
