MINING AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE FARADJE AND WATSA TERRITORIES IN THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO, A CENTURY AFTER THE DISCOVERY OF THE DEPOSIT.
Abstract
Africa is included among the continents with the wealthy ore underground. But this ore’s potential does give advantage in relation to the development of the countries which owning it. This contrast is one of the problems that create, since long time, several questions in the political, socioeconomic and intellectual world.
In the meantime, the issue of sustainable development became a priority through the world and obliges the decision- makers and others ruling levels to include it in their planning.
This analyze is just devoted on the problem of development of the territories of Faradje and Watsa in the Democratic Republic of Congo which overflows the gold’s deposit among the most important in Africa and whose the exploitation date back to the beginning of the last century.
After over a century of exploitation of this precious stone, we asked the question to know, how these entities didn’t develop and what are the factors or elements that block this development?
